Brentwood vs. Centennial  3/9

Brentwood played their third game of the season against Centennial High School on a rainy Tuesday night and cruised to a 13-0 win.  Although there were several downpours before and during the game, the weather didn’t put a damper on the Bruins third win in as many games. Brentwood is showing consistent strength on defense and averaging 13 goals per game on offense.

Both teams got off to a bit of a slow start as they adjusted to the wet  weather, but soon Brentwood got things started with an unassisted goal by Patrick Gill, and led 5-0 at the end of the first quarter. Centennial never really got on track as Brentwood controlled the time of possession, and increased their lead to 9-0 at halftime. Coach Catterton used all his players as the game continued, and ten players contributed to the scoring. The offense was led once again by senior Ben Tarpley who had 5 goals and 1 assist.  Several players finished the night with multiple points including; AJ Rittler, and Patrick Gill (2 goals, 1 asst), Peter Raffanti (1 goal, 1 asst), Will Sanders (2 assists). Also scoring were Richard Alter, Ryan Coll, and Sam Wyatt (1 goal each) and Jason Springer and Colin Hart with 1 assist each.

The defense was led by the play of Colin Hart who created ten Centennial turnovers and the five saves by senior goal tender Preston Stapp. The team also reached one of their stated goals for the season by holding the Cougars scoreless.

The next game for Brentwood is Sunday 3/14 at 2:00 pm at Crockett Park against Christian Brothers, a talented team from Memphis.
